No. 1 ยท For friends

A letter from all your friends, in one place.

Inner Circle is a private newsletter for your group. Everyone answers a few questions, and on the day it all arrives as one issue. No feeds, no likes, just catching up properly.

How it works

  1. Start a group

Pick a name and how often it goes out. Every week, every few months, or anything in between.

  2. Everyone writes in

A few questions, a photo or two, a song. It takes about ten minutes.

  3. One letter arrives

On the day, all the answers come together in one issue, by email and here.

Questions

Who is it for?

Any group of people who care about each other but don't see each other enough. School and college friends in different cities, cousins, old flatmates, a family spread across time zones. A circle can have up to 30 people, and most have between 4 and 12.

How is this different from a WhatsApp or iMessage group?

Group chats move fast, and the real news gets buried under memes and good mornings. Here everyone takes a moment to write properly, so the conversations are more meaningful and thoughtful than a group chat. Answers stay hidden until the day, then arrive together as one letter you can sit down and read.

How much effort is it?

About ten minutes per issue. Answer what you like and skip the rest, and your answers save as you go. Your circle picks how often it goes out, from every week to every few months. Reminders go out near the deadline, and the issue still goes out with everyone who wrote in.

Who picks the questions?

Anyone in the circle can add a question, even anonymously. There's also a bank of ideas, and each issue starts with 1 to 3 of them (the admin picks) to get things going.

Who can see what I write?

Only the people in your circle. Nothing is public, and nobody sees your answers until the issue goes out.

Is it free? Do my friends need an app?

It's free, with no ads. There's nothing to download: it works in any browser, and each issue also arrives by email. You can add it to your home screen if you'd like it to feel like an app.
